Few things are more enjoyable than running away from time to time, and one of the best ways to do that is to trek. Walking in nature trails while enjoying the beautiful scenery provided by nature is an efficient and fun way to refresh your thoughts and spend your holidays – or even a weekend.
Get to know the best tracks scattered around the world in our post! At Travellens.co you will gain more knowledge about travel and trekking.
Grand canyon
Located in the Mojave Desert in the American Midwest, the huge canyon offers several trails of varying difficulty levels. The most requested by tourists, the South Rim, is 70 km and lasts around 5 days.
In addition to the gorgeous view of the valley carved by the Colorado River – one of the US postcards – the tourist can take advantage of and pass through the city of Las Vegas, which is a few miles to the west. The national park is easily accessible, worth visiting in the low season months (March to November).
Laugavegur Route
This trail on the remote island of Iceland is relatively short (only 55km), but worth it for the distinct landscape and effort undertaken. The country has a relentless volcanic activity, so get ready to see lava fields, volcanoes, geysers and thermal pools, as well as endless mountains.
Access to the trail is done by bus that leaves from the capital, Reykjavik, but only between June and September. The paths are blocked by snow for the rest of the year.
Inca Trail
For history-savvy adventurers, this trail is a great idea. Built by the ancient Inca empire, it is a vast network of roads scattered throughout the Andes in western South America. The level of difficulty is high because of the high altitude, which requires physical training.
The best month to travel is July, but get a vague demand time: the demand is quite large, especially in the dry season. There are several routes and companies departing from Cusco, Peru (look for the most recognized companies). Although this trekking trail offers difficulties, crossing the Andean landscapes and reaching the sacred city of Machu Picchu compensates (with leftovers) the effort.
Circuit W
Located in the Chilean Patagonia, on the southern tip of the continent, this circuit – named after the letter-like format – was recently voted the best trail on the planet by Wikitravel , a travel website. The tourist who visits the site has a lush view of mountain formations, glaciers and crystalline lakes.
It is a difficult trail, with about 80 kilometers traveled in a cold climate with winds of up to 100 km / h. However, there are refugees scattered along the way, offering food and stay – preferred option for first-time adventurers. The best months are January and February, and there are several companies that offer the services of transfer from the city of Punta Arenas.
In this post we saw some of the most beautiful and challenging trekking trails in the world. Choose yours, plan your trip in advance and enjoy yourself walking freely through the desert, mountainous or volcanic environments. With the right planning and materials, this will be the best experience of your life!
